The Derbyshire Food and Drink Awards will take place at Thornbridge Hall on October 15th, presented by celebrity chef Brian Turner.

The Derbyshire Food and Drink Awards will be taking place soon - and 21 restaurants, pubs and cafes across the county have been nominated.

The best places to eat in Derbyshire have been identified ahead of a glitzy awards ceremony in October.

A total of 21 restaurants, pubs and cafes across the county have been nominated for a prize at the eighth annual Derbyshire Food and Drink Awards.

Organised by Derbyshire County Council, the event is about encouraging businesses which serve locally-sourced food and promote it on the menu.

Now judges from the AA and Quality in Tourism assessors will make mystery visits to each of the shortlisted venues.

Awards co-ordinator Stephanie Walsh said: "We've had more entries this year than in any previous year - and people still have time to nominate their food hero of the year at the Derbyshire Food Festival website."
